Sheng Pu'er 2019 "Be in Motion" by Tea Line is a rare, genuine purple pu'er (Zi Cha, Zi Ya). This tea acquires its purple color due to the increased content of the pigment anthocyanin in the tea leaves. Purple sheng possesses healing properties and differs significantly in taste and chemical composition from regular sheng.
The signature pancake is dark, almost black, and imbued with a mature aroma with notes of ripe strawberries, a hint of candy caramel, and fruity, herbal nuances that intensify after washing.
The finished infusion has a restrained, uniform flavor with notes of dried berries at the beginning of the sip and hints of ripe blue grapes at the end. This pu-erh holds its flavor profile evenly and can be steeped up to eight times. It strives to maintain its flavor profile as much as possible throughout the entire tea session.
The aftertaste is dense, moderately astringent, filled with hints of blue grapes and dried berries.
